It was developed by the American programmer Bram Cohen, whose company is now involved in development. No more queues or saturated servers: availability is immediate, downloads are faster. Unlike the HTTP protocol where the download is provided by a single distributor which can cause overloads and slowness, with the BitTorrent protocol the download and sharing of files are performed in a decentralized way: all users who download a file share parts of the files they downloaded with other users, creating a virtuous circle.
